Studies involving human beings, animals, or genetically modified organisms (GMO) must have received ethical approval from research ethics committees. In all cases, the name of the body that gave the approval must be included in the Material and Methods section of the manuscript. The authors must also indicate whether the experiments were carried out in accordance with the relevant institutional and national guidelines for the care and use of laboratory animals.

Questionnaires with human beings must have undergone ethical supervision, having a favorable opinion or waiver of opinion, issued by the Research Ethics Committee.

For any studies involving humans or animals, researchers must make sure that they are familiar with and comply with local/national and international institutional, professional, government regulations.

Human research including questionnaires
Journal ASB will only accept submissions with the approval number of the Ethics Committee for studies involving human beings, including studies with questionnaires. In Brazil, research involving human beings must comply with resolutions CNS nº 466/2012 and CNS nº 510/2016. The work of researchers from outside Brazil must comply with the recommendations of their country of origin, identified in the work.

Research involving animal experimentation and GMOs
Studies involving experimental animals and/or genetically modified organisms (GMOs) must include in the declaration, under the full responsibility of the authors, that the work is authorized by the Ethics Commissions on Animal Experimentation and/or Biosafety, together with the approval number. In Brazil, the study must comply with the resolutions of the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation (CONCEA) and be approved by the Ethics Committee on the Use of Animals (CEUA). International studies must meet the guidelines in force in your country of origin.

Studies with GMOs must have passed through the Biosafety Commission and must be in accordance with the CTNBio guidelines.
